"I thought Mr B and B’s Land based engineering tutor might like to know that B has received an offer of a place at Harper Adams university to study Agricultural Engineering Design & testing. He was awarded a distinction for his first year and a student annual award at Wiltshire college and is predicted to gain 3star distinction this year. He was offered a place within a week of applying. The offer was based upon his GCSE grades and the references he received from a college course lecturer and his work placement employer. Naturally we are all so proud of his achievement and it emphasises the advantage he gained by studying level 1&2 at HRCS. Engineering is certainly not an easy option as he is studying A level physics and maths, but as he is able to apply the knowledge gained in a practical way, a college course has really suited him. The college encourage both the agricultural and engineering students to work alongside each other to help problem solve and B has driven all kinds of farm machinery and helped on the college farm during harvest!
